VINCE NEIL Says He Met With 'The Celebrity Apprentice' Producers
November 4, 2013On October 31, MÖTLEY CRÜE frontman Vince Neil was interviewed on the lifestyle program "More Access" on Las Vegas's Fox 5 television station.
Asked about his rumored appearance on the next season of NBC's "The Celebrity Apprentice", Neil said (see video below): "I met with 'The Celebrity Apprentice', I went down to NBC and met with the producers and the network and stuff. And they figure, everything's great, they don't wanna announce anything, but… That's all I ever said — that I'm up for it. And then there's some reporters in this town who, their journalism isn't very good, and they just kind of jump to conclusions and write, basically, lies. So I never said I was going to be on it. I said I'm up for it."
Norm Clarke of Las Vegas Review-Journal reported last month that Neil had "been telling friends" he will appear on the next season of the Donald Trump-hosted celebrity version of "The Apprentice", which has contestants compete to win money for their favorite charities. Celebrity contestants take part in business-driven tasks around New York City and work grueling hours on mentally challenging tasks that test their ability to work together.
Previous rockers who have appeared on "The Celebrity Apprentice" include TWISTED SISTER frontman Dee Snider and POISON's Bret Michaels.
Ratings for "The Celebrity Apprentice" were down about 20 percent last season, but the show still frequently led the 10 p.m. Sunday timeslot in adults 18-49, according to Zap2It.
NBC has yet to officially renew "The Celebrity Apprentice" for the 2013-14 season but NBC's head of alternative programming, Paul Telegdy, said plans are progressing for the return of the series. "We are on track to produce 'The Celebrity Apprentice' as always planned, coordinating among New York City weather conditions, sponsor needs, and celebrities' schedules," he said.
